  • Her parents hailed from Lahore, Pakistan.
  • Her father was a prominent RSS(Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) member.
  • She took her degree in Sanskrit and Political Science.
  • She won the State level Best Hindi Speaker award for three consecutive years from her college.
  • She actively participated in JAYAPRAKASH NARAYAN's Total Revolution Movement, which helped her join Bharatiya Janata Party of India.
  • As a member of National Cadet Corps, Sushma Swaraj developed a typical walking style.
  • She was very popular as an Orator and the best Hindi Speaker.

  • In 1977, she was the youngest Cabinet Minister in the Government of Haryana at 25 years of age.
